www.My-Furniture.com LTD (My Furniture) began as an online furniture retailer in 2012. Since then, it has grown rapidly to become one of the UK’s biggest home furnishing companies, with over 50 employees and a large showroom/warehouse in Nottingham.
With success and business growth, however, came rising operating costs. Rising electricity prices since 2021 were particularly frustrating, with steep and unpredictable fluctuations making budgeting and planning increasingly difficult.
In early 2025, My Furniture Director Dimitrios Pappas decided it was time to take control of the company’s energy expenditure by investing in solar. He engaged leading commercial solar experts GEM Solutions to scope a suitable system.
After assessing the warehouse roof, GEM Solutions Director Gary Williams recommended a 574kW solar system made up of 719 JA Solar panels and five SolarEdge inverters. To maximise solar consumption and savings, he also suggested a 15kWh SolarEdge battery. Together, this system was projected to reduce My Furniture’s annual energy bill by more than 60%.
